Advisors/Administrators

As you know, the U.S. Department of State’s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs sponsors the Fulbright Program and is very invested in the success of these students.  Students have been selected from a highly competitive and extremely rigorous selection process and have been placed at outstanding programs and labs in top ranked institutions in the U.S.  We provide a support role in helping the students meet their academic and personal goals during their grant period.  Although these students are all intelligent and have demonstrated personal qualities and leadership skills that have secured their Fulbright S&T Award, they are also foreign students who, beyond undertaking a rigorous academic program in most cases in language that is not their first language, will likely experience the normal stresses associated with moving to a new country.  We understand that faculty members, student advisors, and those who have daily interactions with Fulbright S&T Fellows, are often the first to see signs of stress that may result in academic performance problems.  If you have any concerns about a particular Fulbright S&T Fellow, please do not hesitate to contact me, as the primary program support person, as soon as possible.  This confidential communication will provide the context for discussions with you and the campus international student advisor, and if appropriate, the student.  Of course, we would also very much like to hear about the brilliant research projects, published work, and other successes of your Fulbright S&T Fellow, as well!

All involved in the Fulbright S&T program share the same goal, to ensure that all fellows succeed and feel that they are being fully supported during their time in the U.S.  We look forward to hearing from you!
